Morgan Wallen has been arrested in downtown Nashville this morning (Monday, April 8th), following an alleged incident at Eric Church's newly opened bar, Chief's.
The details are still emerging, but according to reports, Morgan is being accused of throwing a chair from the sixth story of Chief's, which landed near police officers on the street, who subsequently interviewed staff regarding who was responsible.
In the arrest report, as revealed by News Channel 5 Nashville, officers were allegedly shown a video of Morgan Wallen “lunging and throwing an object over the roof”.
The arrest took place shortly after 12:30am on the morning of Monday, April 8th, with Morgan Wallen facing three felony charges of reckless endangerment, in addition to a misdemeanour charge of disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $15,250, with Morgan being released a few hours after being arrested.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has now released Morgan's mugshot alongside a statement on X explaining, “Country artist Morgan Wallen, 30, was booked early today on 3 cts of felony reckless endangerment and 1 ct of misdemeanor disorderly conduct for throwing a chair from the rooftop of Chief's Bar Sun night. The chair landed on Broadway, close to 2 MNPD officers. His bond: $15,250”.
It remains to be seen how this will affect Morgan's upcoming tour-dates in Mississippi, with the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker due to appear in court on May 3rd, as per the Davidson County Criminal Court website.
Morgan Wallen kicked off his 2024 One Night At A Time tour this weekend in Indiana with two nights at the Lucas Oil Stadium, with the ‘Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter's next concert currently lined up for April 20th in Oxford, Mississsippi.
