After teasing it for months, Megan Moroney has at long last confirmed the release date for her viral anthem, ‘Six Months Later’, with the track dropping on Friday, June 20th 2025.
It's as we suspected, with the ‘Tennessee Orange’ hitmaker hinting at a June 20th arrival when she shared “juuuunnnnneeeeeeeeee sounds good right” alongside a TikTok video of the unreleased song. Eagled-eyed fans noticed that ‘June’ was spelt with 20 letters, which they then deduced to mean it would be dropping on the 20th.
Moroney has now confirmed these predictions, announcing in a new post that ‘Six Months Later’ will indeed be released on June 20th, as well as sharing the playful single artwork.
The Georgia native, who recently earned her second Country Radio No. 1 with ’Am I Okay?’, accompanied the news with the light-hearted caption, “your next girlfriend will be so lucky!”
With each era of Megan Moroney's music pivoting around a particular colour theme, fans are desperately trying to determine whether she has revealed the palette for her third album in this new ‘Six Months Later’ unveiling. Moroney is donning a purple dress, which could mean this is the colour that will pervade the MM3 rollout.
However, other fans have pointed out that she is wearing a yellow dress in the single artwork, and with Megan Moroney also choosing yellow for her 2025 ACM Awards outfit, it seems this is a strong contender. Given how Moroney has outlined that this will be a more joyful album than Lucky and Am I Okay?, which were themed around the colours green and blue respectively, yellow feels like an apt choice.
We'll have to wait and see whether Team Purple or Team Yellow end up being victorious - but either way, judging by how infectious ‘Six Months Later’ is and bearing in mind the momentum behind Moroney after her stellar collaboration with Kenny Chesney, ‘You Had To Be There’, this next project is already shaping up to be her biggest yet.
