Mediabase has unveiled the top ten most-played artists on US Country Radio in 2024, with ‘Thought You Should Know’ hitmaker Morgan Wallen securing the coveted No. 1 spot.
Given the fact that the Sneedville megastar broke the record this year for the most No. 1 singles at Country Radio in a calendar year, it would've been a shock if any other artist was crowned the most prominent figure across the US airwaves by Mediabase.
Despite not releasing a new album in 2024, the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper has dropped two solo singles, ‘Love Somebody’ and ’Lies, Lies, Lies’, with the latter surging to the peak of the Country Radio rankings last month. With ‘Love Somebody’ currently storming up the charts, sitting at No. 5 at the time of writing, it's highly likely Morgan will kick off the New Year by earning another Country Radio No. 1.
Hot on the heels of Morgan Wallen on Mediabase's end-of-year listenings for US Country Radio is Jelly Roll, with the ‘Save Me’ crooner having to settle for second place this time around.
Completing the Top Five is Nate Smith, Lainey Wilson and Luke Combs, while Post Malone makes his first appearance on the chart, thanks to his debut country album, F-1Trillion, which has spawned Country Radio hits such as ‘I Had Some Help’ with Morgan, ‘Guy For That’ with Luke Combs and ‘Pour Me a Drink’ with Blake Shelton.
In addition, Mediabase has confirmed the Top Fifty most played songs on US Country Radio this past year, with the stacked list being led by Nate Smith's multi-week No. 1 ‘World on Fire’. Smith's incandescent anthem is followed by Warren Zeiders’ viral track, ‘Pretty Little Poison’, Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson's momentous duet, ‘Save Me’, Sam Hunt's nostalgic ode, ‘Outskirts’ and Bailey Zimmerman's atmospheric break-up hit, ‘Where It Ends’ at No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 on the chart respectively.
