One of alternative folk's fastest rising acts, Max McNown, is adding another chapter to his burgeoning career as he unveils that his sophomore record, Night Diving, will be available everywhere on January 24, 2025.
Fitting somewhere between Noah Kahan's polished folk and Zach Bryan's rugged country, McNown has carved out a space all his own that's been attracting fans far and wide.
Produced by Jamie Kenney, the nine-song project will serve as the promising follow-up to his debut, Wandering, released just a few months back in September. Exploring new, daring sonic terrain while building on his knack of earnest and heartfelt storytelling and delivery, the forthcoming project will feature the already released 'Hotel Bible' and the brand new 'Better Me For You (Brown Eyes).'
The latter, which accompanies the album announcement, is an introspective offering that finds the singer-songwriter reflecting on the opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime love as he looks to become the best version of himself for the person he loves. Digging beyond just the material things, 'Better Me For You' finds that the power of true love transcends everything else and spurs you on to continually grow and evolve within yourself.
Kicking off the year with a new batch on nine songs, the LP will build on what's been an utter whirlwind of a year for the young Oregon-born, Nashville-based talent.
With the released of his Willfully Blind EP in September, making his AmericanaFest debut and piling on recognitions from the likes of CMT, Billboard and more, McNown's allure has been bolstered by his viral, breakout tune, 'A Lot More Free,' which has taken TikTok by storm over the last several months.
Notching more than 80 million streams, peaking atop the iTunes singles and TikTok Breakthrough USA charts, climbing the Canadian Hot 100 and securing positions on Spotify’s Hot Country and Viral 50 global playlists, the song has effectively introduced McNown so a legion of fans across 2024 and, with this new project in toe, has bulit a strong foundation as he heads into 2025.
McNown's first ever headlining tour will also kick off in January 2025, already selling out stops in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago and more. Until then, he'll be cutting his teeth as support for Corey Kent and Sam Barber.
