Max McNown has announced his third studio album Leave On A Light, with the new project arriving on September 25th. After making the announcement via an interview with Billboard Country, McNown took to social media, posting the album's cover art and full tracklist with the caption "New Album. Leave On A Light. September 25th."

The 'A Lot More Free' hitmaker reposted the Billboard Country graphic on his Instagram story, excitedly commenting "HERE WE GOOOO" as he confirmed the release.

McNown has established himself firmly in the folk-country space, while also having tendencies to blend elements of pop into his work. McNown had already confirmed two of his newest singles to be tracks on the project - 'First Born Daughter,' released on June 12th, and 'Famous To You', which makes its debut today (July 24th).

With a polished indie flair, these tracks make up two of the seventeen on the album. The unique 'First Born Daughter' cleverly plays on the loveable, type-A traits that the narrator has fallen in love with, portraying them as strong-willed both on their own and in the romantic relationship. The wholesome 'Famous To You' expresses the idea of craving the love of one person, despite having the love of thousands from their own musical success.

Judging by his releases so far, it feels like this album may step further into McNown's pop-leaning sensibilities, something that can certainly be entrusted to an artist such as himself, with his Oregon-folk roots consistently showing up for him throughout every song.

Epitomising his genre-blurring abilities is McNown's recent single 'Take Me Back' with global chart-topping DJ, Kygo. The song feels similar to hits from EDM and House music legend Avicii, making this tune the perfect summer heartbreak song.

Whether pop music will be prominent on the record to this single's extent is untold, but one thing we can count on is a creative expansion - both lyrically and musically - from McNown as he continues to keep his feet planted in his folk roots, playing what he knows and experimenting with what sparks his musical interest.
