Alt-country siren Margo Price and six-stringed savant Billy Strings have joined forces on a new single, the pair putting their road-worn country spin on the 2014 Andrew Combs classic, 'Too Stoned To Cry'.

Arriving Thursday (Sept. 12), their duet feels like a salve on this week, a Western-wailing opus that seems to understand what it means to try and hold it together at a time when it feels like everything is falling to pieces.

"There's whiskey and wine / And pills for the pain," the duo croon against the melancholic melody as they ponder lonely days and dark nights. "Fast easy women and a little cocaine / I'm walking the line between hell bent and high / I ain't happy just too stoned to cry."

Their cover of 'Too Stoned To Cry' arrives not long after Price began hinting at a return to country. On her recently launched Substack, ‘Rawdoggin Reality’, the star announced the impending shift in a post, titled "Why I Left Country Music, and Why I'm Coming Back To Kick Its Ass," writing "I know I'm gonna make this next record the way I want to make it, no matter what it takes."

The striking twang that infiltrates their take on 'Too Stoned To Cry' could be a dose of what's to come from this impending Price era.

'Too Stoned To Cry' also drops just ahead of Strings' upcoming solo studio release, Highway Prayers, which is set to arrive on Sept. 27.
