MacKenzie Porter has released her new album, Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart, featuring never-heard-before stand-outs such as ‘Strong Things’, ‘Nightingale’ and ‘Confession’.

The latter serves as one of the many highlights on the enchanting 19-song project, with MacKenzie Porter showcasing her songwriting dexterity with a conflicted, wistful take on a long lost romance. Co-written alongside Emma-Lee and Karen Kosowski, ‘Confession’ is a sparse, intricate offering that allows the spotlight to fall on Porter's captivating vocals and the lyrical intricacy of the track.

Speaking to Holler ahead of the release, the Alberta artist underlined how ‘Confession’ has blossomed into one of her most cherished tracks from the project, “I’m super excited about ‘Confession.’ It's my first big piano ballad and one of my favorite moments on the record. It’s stripped back and intimate, and I love the vulnerability in the confession of the song. I think everyone has a person in their life who they’ve gone back and compared other relationships to”.

With MacKenzie Porter set to co-host the prestigious 2024 CCMA Awards with Thomas Rhett in September, the momentum continues to build for a singer-songwriter whose loyal fanbase has been rapidly growing with each new single from her hotly anticipated debut album with Big Loud, Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart.

The diverse, expansive new record is an in-depth exploration of MacKenzie Porter's personality, history and mentality, with the project zooming out for uplifting, bigger-picture anthems before zeroing in on the magic of the little things in life.

In addition, there's a healthy dose of heartbreak interwoven into the fabric of Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart, with MacKenzie Porter refusing to shy away from the tougher aspects of life, as she lays out her sonic mission statement with this album.

The ‘Have Your Beer’ hitmaker emphasised her pride at being able to release her first major label project, after spending months crafting and honing it, “The album has been a long time in the making, and I’m so excited for people to hear it, sing to it, relate to it, and cry to it. A lot of my heart has gone into this, and I feel like through these 19 songs people are going to get to know a lot more about me.”

Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart wraps MacKenzie Porter's classic country storytelling in a sleek, contemporary ambience and an array of energising, pop-leaning instrumentals.

The record, which will be supported by a slew of tour-dates with Keith Urban and Parker McCollum, consolidates Porter's position at the forefront of the innovative new wave of country artists that aren't afraid to draw on elements from a variety of genres.
