Luke Combs has released the music video for his new track, ‘Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’, which will appear in the blockbuster Twisters movie, a remake of the 1996 original.
The drama and intensity of the anthemic song is intensified by the cinematic visuals, which find Luke placed at the heart of the swirling wreckage caused the titular tornado.
As the North Carolina hitmaker delivers the fiery, brooding lyrics, the rain and debris lashes down all around him, with the smoky, atmospheric setting adding to the song's gravitas. The video concludes with Luke gazing up trepidatiously into the narrow patch of clear sky in the eye of the storm, as the tornado circles around his head.
Following the more stripped-back, intimate offerings that pervaded Luke's 2023 album, Gettin’ Old, and the introspective, fatherhood-inspired unreleased tracks he's been teasing of late, ‘Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’ sees a return to the raucous, energising battle-cries of ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’, ‘My Kinda Folk’ and ‘Cold As You’.
Luke Combs’ electric new single runs in a similar vein to Blake Shelton's ‘God's Country’, and feels tailor-made to soundtrack the carnage and destruction of a disaster movie.
The music video is interspersed with shots from the film itself, which is due to premiere on July 19th, and will be accompanied by a star-studded soundtrack, featuring Shania Twain, Kane Brown, Megan Moroney, Lainey Wilson, Tyler Childers, Thomas Rhett and more.
The heavy-hitting ‘Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’ is Luke Combs’ next Country Radio single, and judging by the success of his previous 18 consecutive No. 1s, we think it's safe to say this new track will extend his impressive run in the coming months.
Ticket-holders for the ‘Love You Anyway’ singer-songwriter will be keeping their fingers crossed that Luke Combs decides to incorporate ‘Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’ into his setlist for his double-header of shows in Santa Clara, California this weekend.
