Music City was treated to the latest Luke Bryan tune on Thursday (Feb. 29). The ‘Play It Again’ star showcased his forthcoming radio release live at the annual Team UMG at the Ryman showcase during Country Radio Seminar 2024.
Following a charming tale about attending a birthday gathering for fellow country frontrunner Jason Aldean the night before, Bryan introduced the single ‘Love You, Miss You, Mean It’ for the very first time.
With a scattering of applause from the crowd, the artist, accompanied by a backing band, launched into the plucky ditty. From its lyrics, ‘Love You, Miss You, Mean It’ appears to be about two young lovers who are inseparable until their relationship is put to the test.
The song is quintessential Luke Bryan, reminiscent of some of his early hits like ‘I Don’t Want This Night to End,’ ‘Drunk on You’ and ‘Someone Else Calling You Baby.’
“She said, 'Love you, miss you mean it’,” Bryan sings in the chorus, “Girl, I'll see you when I'm dreaming / I can't wait to feel you hold me again / Til then I'll be countin' down the minutes / I'll be climbing up these walls / Your kiss, I want it, need it / Love you, miss you mean it, baby.”
Not long after the performance found its way to social media, Bryan posted a video alerting fans that ‘Love You, Miss You, Mean It’ will be officially available on April 5.
The single marks the first new music from Bryan since he dropped the 6-track Songs You Never Heard EP in November 2023.
