After the previously teased release date of September 2024 for Lana Del Rey's country album passed by without any hint of new music from the pop phenom, the genre-blending artist has now confirmed the new title and artwork for the highly anticipated record. As we suspected, the project has been pushed back to early 2025.

The album's name has been changed from Lasso to The Right Person Will Stay, with Lana Del Rey taking to Instagram to officially announced the keenly awaited project.

In the surprise post, Lana explained, “‘The right person will stay’...Out may 21...so grateful that my 13 tracks came together with my beautiful work between Luke [Laird], Jack [Antonoff], Zach [Dawes] and Drew Erickson amongst others”.

Excitingly, Lana Del Rey implied she'll be releasing - or at least teasing - some of the new tracks in the lead-up to her blockbuster performance at Stagecoach Festival 2025 in April.

It seems Lana is planning to use this set as a springboard for her first country project, similarly to how Post Malone debuted the lead single from his lauded 2024 country album, ‘I Had Some Help’, with Morgan Wallen during his 2024 Stagecoach performance.

Lana Del Rey shared, “Happy for you to hear a few songs coming up before Stagecoach”, before suggesting that the first song to drop from The Right Person Will Stay will be ‘Henry, Come On’, which she shared a clip of back in January of this year. Lana teased that the rollout would be “starting with Henry....Love Always”.

The artwork for The Right Person Will Stay features a retro portrait of Lana Del Rey with the title scrawled beneath, which could be a hint that the album will be traditional-leaning.

Lana Del Rey has been teaming up with a number of country artists and producers in recent months, with Lana performing with Megan Moroney, Paul Cauthen, Nikki Lane, Meg Mcree and Lukas Nelson at various points during the year. At the end of 2023, she released a cover of John Denver's ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’.

The trailblazing artist has also been photographed with 2024 ACM Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson, and it's safe to say we're hoping there will be a few blockbuster country collaborations amidst the 13 songs set to appear on The Right Person Will Stay.

Lana Del Rey has also announced a slew of UK and Ireland tour dates for June and July 2025, including shows at the Aviva Stadium and Wembley Stadium. Some are predicting that, given the timing of this run, Lana might be headlining Glastonbury 2025.
