Lainey Wilson has had a pretty incredible week - but then again, you could also say her recent successes are just a drop in the ocean of an outstanding twelve months for the Bell Bottom Country star.
Shortly before taking home two 2023 CMT awards, Lainey Wilson's 2022 single, ‘Heart Like A Truck’, took the top spot on the Mediabase Country Radio chart.
The down-home anthem has been steadily climbing up the rankings over the past few weeks, and it's been buoyed by a range of high-profile live performances.
‘Heart Like A Truck’ wittily plays on the traditional country penchant for truck-based themes and imagery, as Lainey outlines the ways in which her approach to life can be likened to her trusty 4x4 (“I never stay in one place too long / A dirt road's singing me a siren song / I gotta find a field / I need to spin my wheels”).
It becomes the Yellowstone star's third No. 1 single, following in the illustrious footsteps of ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’ and her infectious Cole Swindell collaboration, ‘Never Say Never’.
Lainey is currently in the middle of her supporting role on Luke Combs’ blockbuster world tour, while she's also due to join HARDY on his first ever headlining run of dates this Fall.
They'll no doubt perform their CMT Award-winning duet, ‘wait in the truck’, which continues to surge up the charts. At this rate, the eerie murder ballad could well become Lainey's fourth No. 1 single.
