After a record breaking 19 weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100, Shaboozey's 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' has been bested.
West Coast rap sensation Kendrick Lamar's latest single, 'squabble up', took the viral hit's place, debuting at No. 1. Several of Lamar's songs from his new album, GNX, have also invaded the mainstream singles ranking – 'tv off' (No. 2), 'luther' (No. 3), 'wacced out murals' (No. 4) and 'hey now' (No. 5) – bumping the infectious country song to the No. 6 spot.
Shaboozey's impressive streak at No. 1 earned his 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' recognition as the longest running hit of 2024, as well as the longest reigning solo No. 1 in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. The song surpassed Morgan Wallen's reign with 'Last Night' and, at 19 weeks, tied Lil Nas X’s smash success 'Old Town Road' from 2019.
The run 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' has experienced over the last several months may have just been halted, but the effect the song has had on country music and beyond this year is undeniable.
Beyond leading the charts, the track has also garnered awards show nods and is currently up for a handful of Grammy awards, like Song of the Year, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, as well as Best Remixed Recording for the recent David Guetta remix. Shaboozey, himself, is in the running for Best New Artist at the 67th annual Grammy awards ceremony.
