Kelsea Ballerini to Release New Album, ‘Patterns’, on October 25th

Kelsea Ballerini will release her hotly anticipated fifth studio album, Patterns, on October 25. To celebrate, Kelsea is dropping her new single, ‘Sorry Mom’, tonight (August 9).

The ‘half of my hometown’ hitmaker has revealed the exciting news following a slew of teasers, easter eggs and hints, including a video trailer for the forthcoming project. That clip concluded with a shot of a stack of suitcases piled high on a beach, seemingly symbolising Kelsea cutting adrift the emotional ‘baggage’ she'd been carrying since her high-profile divorce from Morgan Evans in 2022.

In the artwork for Patterns - which has been unveiled as part of an interview with The Associated Press - Kelsea Ballerini is perched atop that same mountain of luggage.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kelsea Ballerini has touched on how she is showcasing more of her personality than ever before through this new body of work, “I think that people probably expect this really happy-go-lucky, love, mushy, gushy record from me. That’s not the case. And I’m really proud of that. It would have been easy to, I think, just collect the really beautiful parts of my life that I’ve dusted off and found the last couple of years. But that’s not the fullness of my experience”.

Fans are assuming Kelsea Ballerini's relationship with Outer Banks star Chase Stokes will colour parts of the project, and it seems we can look forward to hearing Kelsea in a more content space, compared to the anguish of 2023's Rolling Up The Welcome Mat.

As well as dropping an array of clues regarding her new album across socials, the Knoxville singer-songwriter also shared a brief clip of ‘Sorry Mom’, her next single, earlier in the week.

Kelsea Ballerini confirmed in the comments of that video, which features home footage of the ‘Love Me Like You Mean It’ crooner and her mother, Carla, ‘Sorry Mom’ would be released on Friday, August 9. In response to a fan that demanded, “RELEASE IT”, Kelsea tantalisingly wrote, “thursday at midnight sound good? it’s a date”.

Along with her enchanting Noah Kahan collaboration, ‘Cowboys Cry Too’, and ‘Sorry Mom’, we're hoping Kelsea Ballerini incudes the previously teased and beautifully intricate track, ‘To The Men Who Love Women After Heartbreak’, on the forthcoming album.
