After weeks of teasers and tantalising hints, Kelsea Ballerini has officially confirmed she'll be releasing an extended version of her acclaimed Rolling Up The Welcome Mat EP on August 11.

The revamped project, entitled ‘Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good)’, will feature new versions of ‘Penthouse’ and ‘Blindsided’, both of which Kelsea has been performing throughout her 2023 tour dates.

In addition, Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good) will include a brand new track, ‘How Do I Do This’, as well as a full-length version of ‘Interlude’. They'll be joined by ‘Mountain With A View’, ‘Just Married’ and ‘Leave Me Again’, all of which appeared on the original project.

The ‘Peter Pan’ hitmaker revealed the long-awaited news during the first of her three Under The Welcome Mat screenings of the EP's accompanying short film in Los Angeles on August 1. During her Q&A session, Kelsea Ballerini explained how touched she's been at the response of fans to the EP, as well as the raucous reaction the alternative versions have been instigating while out on the road.

The new ‘Healed Version’ of ‘Penthouse’ pointedly switches a key lyric, with Kelsea singing “I kissed someone new last night / And now I don't care where you're sleeping, baby” instead of “I kissed someone new last night / And now I don't know where you're sleeping, baby”.

The February EP was lauded by fans and critics alike for its vulnerable and visceral exploration of Kelsea's divorce from fellow country artist, Morgan Evans. Evans shared his own perspective on the high-profile split via his 2022 single, ‘Over For You’, during which he sings heartbreakingly, “I would have searched the whole world over for you / Took a flight, through the night / To be that shoulder for you”.

Another of Kelsea Ballerini's updated tracks, ‘Blindsided (Yeah, Sure, Okay)’, concludes with a thinly veiled response to ‘Over For You’, with the Tennessee native adding in the blasé line, “Now you’re singing it loud on the radio / You couldn’t say it to my face / You would have searched the whole world over? / Yeah, sure, okay”.

Kelsea Ballerini has two more Under The Welcome Mat screenings in Nashville (August 8) and New York (August 10) before her hotly anticipated Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (For Good) EP drops on August 11.
