Could Morgan Wallen have just revealed his next single from his brand new album, I'm the Problem?
Taking to his Instagram Stories for a rare socials post, the Sneedville megastar has shared a black-and-white photo of what appear to be lyrics to an unreleased song.
There's no title given, although some initially believed the track to be called ‘Sticks’, as this is written at the top of Morgan Wallen's lyrics notepad. However, on closer inspection, it's clear it's Sticks MGMT, the name of Wallen's management firm.
Most of the lyrics are blurred out - in a similar way to how the I'm the Problem tracklist was blocked on his January post - but a handful of lines have been left for fans to pore over.
It appears to be a song with heavy undertones, as Morgan Wallen references keeping a gun near him when he sleeps, out of fear of “jeepers and creepers” breaking into his house.
The somewhat enigmatic lyrics to Morgan Wallen's tantalising new track read, “Keep a loaded .44 sitting by the bed / For the jeepers and the creepers who ain't right in the head...Throw ‘em out from the start / Go around the horn / 3 up 3 down in the 1st”.
Unfortunately, there's no release date just yet, but we're hoping that the fact the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper has shared a preview of the lyrics means we'll be getting the track soon.
Morgan Wallen is yet to confirm when I'm the Problem will arrive, but we suspect it might be dropping on April 4th (4/4/), in honour of it being his fourth studio album. Wallen opted for a similar rollout for his record-breaking third album, which dropped on 3/3.
There has been some speculation that Morgan Wallen might be readying a double-album in the mould of 2021's Dangerous, with half of the tracks exploring the more heartbroken, downcast ambience of ‘Smile’, ‘Lies, Lies, Lies’ and ’I'm the Problem’, while the second half may carry the lighter, breezier feel of ’Love Somebody’.
The greyscale and black-and-white vibe Morgan Wallen has been leaning into for his recent studio shots - as well as for the artwork for ‘Smile’ and ’Lies, Lies, Lies’ - could nod to I'm the Problem exploring the contrast between brighter and darker moods.
Of course, this is just conjecture at this point, and we'll have to wait and see what Wallen has in store - either way, excitingly, it seems more new music is fast approaching.
