Jessie Murph will release a genre-blurring remix of her viral hit, ‘Blue Strips’, with Murph revealing that she's teamed up with rap prodigy Sexyy Red for the revamped track.
‘Blue Strips’ with Sexyy Red will be made available this Friday (May 23rd), with Jessie Murph sharing a heartwarming photo of the two artists recently hanging out together. The track's title likely refers to the slang for one hundred dollar bill notes, due to these having a blue 3-D security ribbon that is emblazoned onto the paper.
Since its release on April 11th, ‘Blue Strips’ has been spreading across TikTok, with the infectious track surging to the business-end of Spotify's coveted Viral 50 USA playlist.
It followed ‘Gucci Mane’, which was released the week prior, with the sense of anticipation continuing to rise ahead of Jessie Murph's third studio album. The project is expected to drop later this year, with Murph cementing herself as one of country music's most exciting new voices with her recent 2025 ACM New Female Artist nomination.
Although not hailing from the country music world, this isn't the first time Sexyy Red has flirted with the genre. Back in May 2024, Zach Bryan brought out the ‘Rich Baby Daddy’ rapper as a surprise guest for his ‘Revival’ finale in St. Louis, Missouri.
By the same token, Jessie Murph has made a point of utilising an eclectic sonic palette, with the ‘Sip’ crooner combining trap, R&B and country elements throughout her catalogue.
