Jesse Lynn Madera has unveiled her eagerly awaited sophomore album, Speed Of Sound, with the 11-track project set to arrive on streaming platforms on March 15, 2024.

The record follows Jesse Lynn Madera's widely lauded 2020 offering, Fortunes, which spawned fan-favourites such as ‘You, With The Sullen Eyes’ with John Hawkes, ‘Sentimental’ with Joel Taylor, ‘Funny Man’ and the much-loved title-track.

Although fans will have to wait another couple of weeks or so before they can hear the entirety of the new album, Madera has treated listeners to two tantalising previews of Speed Of Sound, with both ‘Austin’ and ‘Last Call’ already available to stream.

The latter features sleek harmonies from the West Virginia artist's co-writer and producer, Dan Navarro, with the two combining for a beautifully stripped-back, evocative musing on the evolution of a seemingly co-dependent relationship.

In addition to ‘Last Call’ and the sensual, yearning ‘Austin’, fans will be able to hear unreleased songs such as ‘Ten Miles Down’, ‘What We've Become’, ‘Sweet Pretender’, ‘That House’, ‘No Place to Shine’ and the John Fitzpatrick-assisted ‘To The Light’ on Speed Of Sound. The project will also include Jesse Lynn Madera's powerful take on ‘Unchained’, which was famously sung by Johnny Cash. The visceral video for Madera's version of ‘Unchained’ premiered on Holler in April 2023.

As well as gearing up for the release of the new album, Jesse Lynn Madera is currently preparing for her May run of shows, with tour-dates line-up in New York, Maryland and more.
