During a heartwarming moment at his recent show, Jelly Roll picked out a fan that was experiencing their first ever concert that night - an 80-year-old woman named Marley.

Large swatches of Jelly's fans tend to bring cardboard signs to his shows, offering their testimonies and hardships they've been experiencing, before touching on how his music has helped them. But at this show, a different kind of sign caught his eye.

“Is this true?”, the Nashville native began, before explaining to the rest of the crowd, “There's a sign that says there's an 80-year-old woman here that this is her first concert”.

The ‘Need a Favor’ singer-songwriter then set about trying to find her, “Where is this sweet lady? Is that her back there?”, with Jelly then playfully quipping, “Come here, grandma. And she is coming quick, look at her...I couldn't move that fast, baby, let's go!”

When she'd revealed her name, he went on to sweetly remark, “Hey, Miss Marley, how are you?...I'm gonna be honest, I think you're lying. I don't think you're 80, you look 60...you're 80-years-old? And this is your first concert? Well thank you for picking me for this Miss Marley, I hope you have the night of your life and I hope this starts a spree of you going to 50 more concerts in the next 20 years”.

The ‘Son of a Sinner’ hitmaker concluded, “The way you're moving, I got a feeling you're gonna be 100 years old still coming to Jelly Roll shows! Thank you for making me your first one. Thank you, Miss Marley, baby, I hope you have a wonderful night”.

It was an endearing and unexpected exchange that epitomises the uplifting and welcoming atmosphere that permeates Jelly Roll's shows, with the genre-blurring maverick always ensuring his message of love, redemption, forgiveness and kindness is just as prominent during his performances as the music itself. As

Jelly doesn't have any more tour-dates on the books just yet, and he revealed earlier this summer that he was planning on taking some time off to rest after another run with Post Malone and his divorce from Bunnie XO. We're sure though that, next time Jelly rolls into her city, Marley will be smiling from the front-row once again.
