During his recent performance at the Music City Rodeo in Nashville, Jelly Roll made a surprising announcement to the packed-out crowd - the ‘Need a Favor’ singer-songwriter will not be pencilling in another show in his beloved hometown until 2027.
In-between songs, Jelly Roll revealed the reason why he would be avoiding concerts in Nashville for the next couple of years, "This will be my last Nashville show until 2027, y'all. Hear me out though, this is why. Because I need y'all's help. I want to be the first act to play Nissan Stadium when it opens in the spring of 2027”.
The revamped Nissan Stadium began construction in 2024, with the new home of the Tennessee Titans set to open its doors in 2027 and replace the current venue on Titans Way. The capacity is due to be 60,000, a slight decrease from the present stadium's size.
Addressing fans, Jelly Roll expanded on his blockbuster ambitions for 2027, “I never thought I would make it here. I never thought we would sell the Bridgestone out. We've sold the Bridgestone out three times now - two times in the last five months”.
Although Jelly Roll is yet to embark on a headlining stadium run, the ‘Save Me’ hitmaker has been playing venues on this scale as part of Post Malone's 2025 Big Ass Stadium Tour.
In recent years, Jelly Roll has cemented himself as one of the biggest artists in today's country scene, with Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan two of the only acts in the genre that can outpace the ‘Son of a Sinner’ crooner for monthly Spotify streams.
We therefore think Jelly Roll would be the perfect choice to launch the new Nissan Stadium in 2027, particularly given the fact that he grew up in Nashville, Tennessee - and is, of course, a die-hard Tennessee Titans fan. We are also hoping that, even if he won't be bringing his arsenal of soul-stirring anthems to Nashville, Jelly has plenty of shows outside of Music City on the books for the next couple of years.
