During a new episode of Bunnie XO's Dumb Blonde Podcast, Jelly Roll has paid tribute to his wife and the way in which she embraced her role as a stepmother to his daughter, Bailee.

Bunnie XO and Jelly have often spoken about how, when they first got together, it was always Bunnie's primary intention to help the aspiring rapper to get full custody of Bailee, regardless of whether their own relationship went the distance or not.

Fast forward around ten years, Bunnie and Jelly are still happily married, with the former regularly posting videos across TikTok alongside her beloved stepdaughter, Bailee.

In the new clip, Jelly emphasises how much he admires Bunnie, especially given how traumatic her own reference-point for motherhood seemingly was. In her new memoir, Stripped Down, Bunnie alleges that her stepmother abused her during childhood.

Jelly touchingly muses, “It was so interesting when we first got married, and I learned about how abusive your stepmother was in that whole situation, and how much therapy we did together because of different trauma triggers, from me having mother issues and you having stepmother issues. And every now and then, that can be a cocktail for an argument, and you figure out how to get through it”.

The ‘Need a Favor’ singer-songwriter candidly goes on, “But what I also know is you then came into the role as a quote, unquote “stepmother”, and absolutely became a mother. Absolutely knocked it out of the park. Absolutely changed [Bailee's] life. This young lady is 17 and a half years old, fixing to go to college with a 4.0 GPA...You deserve it, though. So how did you able to take being in such a horrible mothering situation and becoming a mother to an unexpected angel?”

Bunnie responds, “I grew up around a lot of people I didn't want to be like, and as a young child, I could tell that something was wrong with the people I was growing up around”.

She expands, “I left at 14 and never went back, never got another dime from my family and never looked back. But I vowed that I would never make a child feel the way that woman made me feel. You cannot treat children badly and get away with it”.

Bunnie, who hosts the popular Dumb Blonde Podcast, concludes “They remember everything. So when Bailee came into my life...You know me. I'm not all-talk, I'm action. I'll say something one time, and I'll figure it out. And that's what we did”.

Jelly adds some final words of appreciation, “You have been the mother you never had, and I'm honored to have you in my life”, before Bunnie underlines her gratitude for getting the opportunity to be a stepmother to Bailee, “Thank you for giving me the gift”.

Bunnie and Jelly have been open in recent months about their IVF journey, with the couple looking to expand their family by two. Bunnie announced via her memoir that they have found a surrogate, and they are hoping to welcome twins in the near future.

Given these heartfelt words from Jelly hailing how loving Bunnie is as a stepmother, and their clear sense of gratitude for their roles as parents, it hopefully isn't too long before the couple's shared dream of having children through IVF is realised.
