The first round of artists have been announced for Nashville's ‘Together in Action’ benefit concert, which is due to take place on August 15 2023, and seeks to raise awareness around gun violence.

Jason Isbell has been confirmed for the event, and attendees will no doubt be keenly looking forward to hearing the ‘Cover Me Up’ hitmaker performing a range of highlights from his recently released Weathervanes album, which he crafted alongside his 400 Unit band.

Also set to take the stage at Nashville's City Winery venue this Fall is Devon Gilfillian, Chris Housman, Julie Williams, Autumn Nicholas and The Kentucky Gentlemen.

Together in Action is being produced by Country Any Way and eQuality events, in order to try and improve citizens’ understanding of just how detrimental Nashville's gun violence problem really is. Everytown For Gun Safety reports that on average, a staggering 1,385 people are killed by guns in Tennessee each year.

The catalyst for the upcoming benefit was the tragic shooting at The Covenant School earlier in 2023, during which three adults and three children lost their lives.

Together in Action organiser and founder of Country Any Way, Holly G, underlined how important it was to her to put on this event, “In my efforts to change the landscape of country music, I'm realising that a huge part of that is taking a close look at where we live and being vocal about the changes we'd like to see”.

Holly stressed, “Since becoming a resident in Tennessee, I've incorporated into my mission making sure that marginalised voices and the voices of people who want Tennessee to be an inclusive and safe space are heard. Music gives us such a beautiful platform for expression and creating community. I'm so excited that myself, eQuality events and City Winery Nashville were able to pull together such an amazing group of artists to send a clear message that Tennesseans deserve a safe place to live”.

Tickets to Nashville's Together in Action benefit concert on August 15 2023 are on-sale from Wednesday, July 19 at 12pm CST, with a City Winery member pre-sale opening today (Tuesday, July 18) at 12pm CST. More information can be found here.
