Gareth treated the Holler Stage crowd at C2C Berlin 2025 to an evocative performance of his new unreleased song, ‘Answered Prayer’, with the fast-emerging Northern Irish singer-songwriter explaining that the track was originally meant for Jelly Roll.

It's a soul-stirring take on love, with Gareth and his co-writers Zach Crowell, Blake Pendergrass and Hunter Phelps serving up a flurry of Biblical imagery to convey their uncertainty.

Gareth croons candidly to a potential lover, “Maybe you're my Hell on Earth / Maybe you're my answered prayer” and “Maybe I'm a ring of fire / Maybe you're a loaded gun”.

Speaking with Holler, the ‘Quiet in This House’ hitmaker explained how Zach Crowell and Blake Pendergrass came to him with a partial version of ’Answered Prayer’, featuring AI-generated Jelly Roll vocals, “This song was a funny one. I went into the studio in Nashville, and I was with Zach Crowell, my producer, who does a lot of Jelly Roll stuff, and a guy called Blake Pendergrass, and they told me that they had this chorus of a song already written, and it was AI Jelly Roll's voice, because they originally thought it would be a Jelly Roll song. We listened to it back, and it was Jelly's voice - it was a weird experience, but it was really good”.

Gareth expanded, “I was like, ‘Yeah, I like this song. Can we finish this song together?’ A guy called Hunter Phelps also helped write the chorus, but he wasn't there that day. Me, Blake and Zach finished off the song. I think it's one of those songs that just keeps getting bigger and bigger as it goes on. It starts off very slow, very small, and it gets bigger. I think it's one of my favorite songs I have coming up. So yeah, this song was originally a Jelly Roll song, and now it's a Gareth song”.

Excitingly, Gareth confirmed to Holler that we won't have to wait too much longer before get to hear his full studio version of ’Answered Prayer’, teasing, “It will be coming out very soon”.

We'll be keeping our fingers tightly crossed that the country prodigy is planning to drop the powerful track in the coming weeks - and who knows, perhaps Jelly Roll might fall in love with Gareth's take and decide to turn it into a blockbuster duet.
