Shortly after confirming that they'll be dropping two - yes, two - studio albums in 2025, Muscadine Bloodline have returned to Instagram to announce they have a brand new single arriving on Friday, January 10th, featuring a mysterious guest.
Although the other vocalist on the forthcoming track is yet to be officially unveiled, judging by the caption, it looks like Muscadine Bloodline are teasing a Josh Meloy collaboration.
When unveiling their first release of 2025, Muscadine Bloodline's Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton hinted at who the featured artist might be, sharing, “Next Friday the 10th, Putting out a new song, And sometimes the feature leaves the porchlight on. Any guesses who it is???” alongside a silhouette of the act.
Given the fact that Josh Meloy has a hugely popular song titled ‘Porch Light’, on which he sings, “Paid my dues, I'm leadin’ up the road / I'm comin’ home, baby, leave the porch light on”, it seems Muscadine Bloodline are about to drop a track with Meloy. The fast-emerging artist has joined the Muscadine Bloodline duo on a number of tour-stops throughout 2024, adding credence to this prediction.
It's not clear what the name of the song will be at present, but it's safe to say the Alabama crooners have a lot of new music up their sleeves as 2025 gets underway. In a lengthy social media post toasting the New Year, Muncaster and Stantion underlined to fans that they have plenty in store, “God willing, 2025 is gunna be our biggest year yet. Our biggest headlining tour to start the year, a new record soon, some big festivals this summer, the biggest tour we've been apart of in the fall, and another record at the end of the year. (TWO RECORDS IN ONE YEAR???.....Yes)”.
Elsewhere during the message, Muscadine Bloodline explained how the first of these two albums will serve as a sequel to their widely lauded 2024 album, The Coastal Plain. It therefore appears that this new Josh Meloy collaboration, which drops on January 10th, will be our first tantalising taste of “Chapter 2” of The Coastal Plain.
