After being invited by Parker McCollum to make her coveted Grand Ole Opry debut on March 29th, Laci Kaye Booth has shared her heartwarming reaction to the touching moment.
Parker McCollum surprised his fellow Texan with the invitation during his show at Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After Laci Kaye Booth emerged during McCollum's headline set to perform the title-track from her latest album, ‘The Loneliest Girl in the World’, the ‘Pretty Heart’ hitmaker revealed the exciting news.
As Laci Kaye Booth was about to leave the stage, Parker McCollum stopped her, “One more thing, Laci, before you go. I really do love that song, and I wanted you to come up on stage and sing it. But I also wanted to tell you, that on March 29th, you are being invited to make your Grand Ole Opry. Make some noise for Laci Kaye Booth, y'all!”
In a statement released following the unexpected reveal, Laci Kaye Booth has movingly underlined how appreciative she is of the opportunity to perform at one of Nashville's most prestigious venues, “I’m so incredibly grateful and honored. I’ve waited six years in Nashville, and my whole life before that, for this very moment”.
She expanded by emphasising how receiving the invitation from McCollum added an extra sheen of significance, “I can’t believe it’s here. What a beautiful experience, made even more special by one of my favorite artists and Texans, Parker McCollum”.
Laci Kaye Booth has grown into one of contemporary country's most exciting prodigies in recent years, with the ‘Treasure’ singer-songwriter dropping her widely acclaimed third album, The Loneliest Girl in the World, in May last year. The project has spawned fan-favourites such as the infectious ‘Cigarettes’ and ‘I Let Him Love Me’.
We're looking forward to seeing which songs Laci Kaye Booth decides to serenade the Grand Ole Opry crowd with in a month's time, when the ‘Can't Cowboy’ crooner follows an array of the genre's most esteemed figures and steps into the hallowed Opry circle. Laci Kaye Booth will be joined on the Opry's stellar March 29th roster of performers by Bill Anderson, Steve Earle, Mark Wills and more.
