If there was a country music award for the person that is simultaneously the funniest and the most influential artist-songwriter in Nashville, it would be hard to look past ERNEST.

Not only does the ‘Did It For The Story’ crooner possess one of the most sought-after pens in contemporary country, and an unrivalled catalogue of writing credits for artists that range from Morgan Wallen to Post Malone to Kenny Chesney and various others in-between, but ERNEST also has the best sense of humour in Music City.

Whenever the Nashville native does an interview, you can expect a flurry of fascinating insights into his songwriting process, alongside a plethora of laugh-out-loud anecdotes.

Just this week, ERNEST spent some time chatting to the KMLE Country 107.9 team, with ERN continuing to promote his sinuous, nostalgic single, ‘Would If I Could’, at Country Radio.

Amusingly, at one point - presumably in response to a question about his close buddy and ‘Flower Shops’ collaborator - ERNEST joked, “We're not here to talk about Morgan Wallen!”

The prolific songsmith then donned an expression of mock-seriousness, as he quipped, “No, I'd be broke if it wasn't for Morgan Wallen...”, causing another fit of laughter from the room. Hilariously, fans have taken to the comments to jest that they're broke because of Wallen, due to spending so much on his concert tickets and merchandise.

It was a tongue-in-cheek statement from ERNEST, but endearingly, it's also evident how much respect he has for Wallen due to the support he has offered him over the years, such as by bringing him out on the road for his One Night At A Time tour.

ERNEST, of course, is no stranger to being asked questions about his pal, with ERN and Morgan Wallen having worked together for the majority of their respective careers.

ERNEST has penned a dizzying array of hits for Morgan Wallen, including ‘I Had Some Help’, ‘Broadway Girls’, ‘You Proof’, ‘More Than My Hometown’, ‘Everything I Love’ and ‘Wasted On You’. ERN's pen is expected to be found across Wallen's forthcoming studio album, I'm the Problem, which arrives on Friday, May 16th.

In addition, ERNEST has been spotted in the studio with another good friend of his, Post Malone, and BigXthaPlug, with the trio expected to be working on BigX's highly anticipated country EP. The lead single from the body of work, ‘All The Way’ with Bailey Zimmerman, drops on April 4th, with more star-studded duets set to follow.

As well as lending his songwriting talents to other artists, ERNEST has a stacked roster of his own projects in the works, including the keenly awaited Cadillac Sessions. This somewhat mysterious project is thought to be a collaborative record featuring artists in his Cadillac Music publishing house, such as Chandler Walters.

The cornerstone of that record is due to be ERNEST's blockbuster collaboration with Snoop Dogg, ‘Gettin’ Gone’, with ERN and Snoop spotted filming a music video for the track earlier in March. The genre-blending song drops on April 9th.
