As if his 2023 album Unreal Unearth wasn't gift enough, Hozier has presented four new songs to fans with the newly released Unheard EP.
Made up of songs originally recorded during the sessions for his acclaimed third studio album, Unheard features the tracks 'Too Sweet’, 'Empire Now', 'Fare Well', and the Allison Russell collaboration 'Wildflower and Barley’.
“It’s my pleasure to announce the release of more work from the album sessions which could not make the original release," the 'Take Me to Church' star shared in a post on social media last week, alongside a time-lapse sketchbook drawing.
He went on describe the four unreleased tracks, writing; "These are songs that might’ve made it to the circles of gluttony, limbo, violence and the outward ‘ascent’ respectively but could not for different reasons. I’m very glad I’ll get to share them with you”.
This fresh set of songs arrive just ahead of the artist's 2024 North American trek in support of Unreal Unearth. The tour, kicking off in April and coming to a close in September, will see Hozier accompanied by Russell.
By summer's end, the artist will also have a number of festival appearances under his belt, as well as his biggest headlining show yet, a date at London’s 45,000-capacity Finsbury Park with Brittany Howard and Lord Huron in support. While the London has sold out, Hozier will also headline two huge outdoor shows at Chepstow Racecourse and Glasgow Green in Scotland.
