FGL - LFG.

Everyone on TikTok keeps saying 2026 is the new 2016. While there are some trends and fashion choices that we reckon are best left in the past, we're hoping this ten-year-anniversary wave of nostalgia has given Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard a little extra motivation to give us the FGL reunion we've been clamouring for.

Now - for a change - this isn't us simply yearning for the duo to get back together and gift us more music in the vein of absolute anthems such as ’Cruise’ and ‘Round Here’. BK and T-Hubb have seemingly been paving the way for a potential reunion via social media over the past few months, and we have an inkling that 2026 is the year we get the long-awaited link-up between these two hitmakers.

Today (January 15th), BK has shared a throwback photo from the 2026 set of ‘May We All’ with Tim McGraw, one of our all-time favourite Florida Georgia Line songs and videos.

The self-professed ‘Beach Cowboy’ writes, “2016. Time is wild, it can make 10 years ago feel like yesterday and forever ago at the same time. How’s 2026 treating y’all so far?!”

It comes roughly a week after Tyler revealed that he had invited BK on a hike, with the former expressing his desire to reconnect and reestablish their friendship. He explained, “It doesn't have to be what it was, and it doesn't have to equal FGL doing anything, but we need to repair...and spend some time together face to face”.

Tyler went on to movingly stress, “And just walk and talk and hang, and go fishing or get a guitar out...I'm excited for that, because yeah, it feels like, at this point, enough time has gone by. What's happened has happened. But there hasn't been any real repair at all, so what I'm hungry for, is...let me get my friend back”.

Then, BK shared a post joking about the significance of the FGL boys going on a hike together, with many interpreting this to mean that the duo could be returning to the studio.

HARDY, who was a key writer during the latter years of FGL, particularly on Can't Say I Ain't Country, has hilariously commented, “Do I need to start writing FGL songs again”.

ERNEST, another key Big Loud songwriter for FGL during the 2010s, has echoed HARDY's sentiments, joking, “The hike heard round the world”, while Ashley Cooke, another Big Loud signee, has excitedly gushed, “okay 2026 is already better”.

We're wondering if it's not an accident that so many Big Loud staples have greeted the news that BK and T-Hubb are back on better terms with such enthusiasm. FGL signed with Big Loud Mountain in 2010, before departing for Republic and Big Machine in 2012, and then launching their own label, Round Here Records, in 2018.

Perhaps, if BK and Tyler are indeed considering restarting their partnership and releasing some new music, they would do so under Big Loud, one of their earliest supporters.

Now, before we get carried away (but let's be honest, it's already way too late for that), it's worth stressing that Tyler has always maintained that it's impossible for he and BK to continue pursuing solo careers alongside Florida Georgia Line. This was the key bone of contention when they first split in 2022, with BK believing they could just release solo projects while still recording new FGL material.

Tyler made it clear on his recent appearance on the Human School Podcast that he hasn't changed his mind on this. Nonetheless, BK's social media teasers and all the artist comments definitely seem to be implying there could be a reunion on the horizon. If this is indeed the case, then it must mean that either Tyler has softened his stance on doing solo music and FGL simultaneously, or he and BK have agreed to put a temporary pause on each of their solo careers.

We don't know, but we'd lean towards the latter. Especially given how explosive some of the public disagreements between Tyler and BK have been - with the latter even dropping what many perceive to be a diss track aimed at the former, ‘Kiss My Boots’ - we'd be surprised if Tyler is suddenly happy to concede to his Floridian half on this debate. What we could envision, though, is Tyler and BK putting all their energy into resuming Florida Georgia Line and working on a new FGL project to drop later this year, while putting their solo careers on the back-burner for now.

Which brings us back to BK's ‘May We All’ throwback post. We think this could be a bigger clue than it appears on first glance. ‘May We All’ dropped in July 2016, ahead of FGL's celebrated third studio album, Dig Your Roots, later that summer in August.

Therefore, the ten-year-anniversary of ‘May We All’ and Dig Your Roots is approaching - which would serve as the perfect springboard from which to re-launch Florida Georgia Line. Throw in a surprise CMA Fest 2026 set in June to kick off all the excitement (and a tell-all interview with Holler...), and you've got yourself a killer rollout.

Perhaps we're reading too much into this and living in fantasy-land. But in all honesty, given how Tyler and BK completely reshaped the country landscape in the 2010s, and remain one of the most popular acts in the genre in terms of streaming, we're just glad to see that they're able to rekindle their friendship and - if nothing else - reminisce on all the incredible, game-changing feats they've accomplished.

But let's be 100% real, it would be awesome if they did get back together, wouldn't it..? A 2026 remix of ‘Cruise’ featuring Post Malone? A Reunion World Tour? The re-opening of FGL House in a brand new spot in Nashville? We can but dream...
