Genre-bender HARDY has fully infiltrated the ballot at the 57th Annual CMA Awards this year, nabbing a superb four nominations, all for his breakout, No. 1 single 'wait in the truck.'
Featuring the ever lovely Lainey Wilson, who herself is up for nine awards as the top nominee, 'wait in the truck' was easily one of the biggest songs in the genre in 2023. Fittingly, the song is up for Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year.
In the Single of the Year category, HARDY will be battling it out with Luke Combs ('Fast Car'), Jelly Roll ('Need A Favor'), Jordan Davis ('Next Thing You Know') and Wilson's solo 'Heart Like A Truck.' The same slew of nominees are present in the Song of the Year category, save Jelly Roll for up-and-comer Megan Moroney's 'Tennessee Orange.'
In the Musical Event of the Year, 'wait in the truck' is joined by some worthy adversaries, including Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson's 'Save Me,' Cole Swindell & Jo Dee Messina's 'She Had Me At Heads Carolina (Remix),' Kane and Katelyn Brown's 'Thank God' and Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton's 'We Don't Fight Anymore.'
Finally, the music video for the blockbuster duet, directed by Justin Clough, will be vying for the trophy against 'Light On In The Kitchen' (Ashley McBryde), 'Memory Lane' (Old Dominion), 'Need A Favor' (Jelly Roll) and 'Next Thing You Know' (Jordan Davis).
Spending much of his career thus far as one of the most in-demand songwriters in country music, HARDY has now tallied nine CMA nominations, three of which have been for Song of the Year.
The 57th Annual CMA Awards, hosted by Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning will be broadcasted live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 8 on ABC. For the full list of nominations and details regarding the show, head here.
