After two days of non-stop country anthems and whiskey-fuelled celebrations in Indio, California, the final day of Stagecoach 2025 can sometimes feel like a limp to the finish line.
Thankfully, Luke Combs had other ideas. After storming onto the amusingly-titled Mane Stage for his Sunday night headline slot, the ‘When It Rains It Pours’ hitmaker treated the sprawling crowd to a spectacular array of hits from his formidable catalogue, as well as surprising them with a dizzying number of special guests.
Bailey Zimmerman joined Combs to perform the live debut of their new duet, ‘Backup Plan’, while Good Charlotte appeared for ‘The Anthem’ and ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. Earlier in the evening, the North Carolina native came out during the Backstreet Boys’ set to deliver their irresistible pop throwback, ‘I Want It That Way’.
Luke Combs saved the best for last, though, with the bearded crooner teasing the audience by kicking off Garth Brooks’ ubiquitous classic, ‘Friends in Low Places’ as his final song.
Initially, this appeared to simply be a fun, crowd-pleasing finish, with around 80,000 fans singing their hearts out to this country staple. But as the second verse approached, we heard another voice reverberating over the speakers - but Combs wasn't singing.
Garth Brooks then emerged from side-stage, with the country titan greeted with a chorus of screams and cheers as he serenaded the audience with his infectious earworm.
Endearingly, Garth Brooks concluded by expressing his gratitude to Luke Combs for inviting him out this iconic link-up, with Brooks donning Combs a “future Hall-of-Famer”.
Especially after this explosive set, there's no doubt Luke Combs will go down in country history, with the ‘Hurricane’ singer-songwriter reeling off a mid-boggling number of chart-toppers and continuing to cement himself as one of the greats.
