At long last, we have the news we’ve been waiting for - well, at least part of the news. Noah Kahan has finally announced the release date for his long-teased single, ‘The Great Divide’. The soul-stirring, folk-leaning anthem drops on January 30th, with ‘The Great Divide’ serving as the lead single from Kahan’s forthcoming album.

This is tremendously exciting news, and particularly after Kahan shared a snippet of that surprising electric guitar solo earlier in the month, we can’t wait to hear how the full studio version has turned out.

However, after Kahan sprinkled a few cryptic clues and teasers via social media, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t expecting a full-blown album announcement today. But hey, we’ll take what we can get from the ‘Northern Attitude’ singer-songwriter.

It comes after Kahan told a fan yesterday that was asking about the new album to “Check ur phone tomorrow”, before uploading an animation of bugs crawling to his Instagram Story.

It all ties in with the Vermont native’s “the last of the bugs” theme, which has been at the heart of his new album rollout. It’s taken from a lyric in ‘The View Between The Villages’, the final track from his last original full-length album, Stick Season, which arrived way back in 2022.

With Kahan confirming a few weeks ago that the album will be dropping “when the bugs don’t die”, we reckon he’s eyeing up a Spring 2026 release date. We suspect Kahan might even release the new project on the very first day of Spring - Friday, March 20th.

Either way, things are heating up as Kahan’s ‘Stick Season’ era thaws out, making way for a new era starting on January 30th with his haunting anthem, ‘The Great Divide’.
