During CMA Fest 2024, Riley Green sat down with Holler to discuss his forthcoming UK debut performance at BST Hyde Park in support of his good buddy, Morgan Wallen.
Riley Green was added to the blockbuster bill alongside ERNEST and Ella Langley, with Alana Springsteen, Alexandra Kay, Zandi Holup, Abbie Mac, The Halfway Kid and Evan Bartels also set to perform at the momentous event in London on July 4th.
In his conversation with Holler, Riley shared, “I'm very excited about the show with Morgan, it's such an iconic venue and you could see the buzz around it and how excited everybody is on social media when we announced it. It's my first time overseas, which is going to be pretty exciting for me. It's gonna be my longest trip yet!”
Riley Green has a collaboration with his fellow BST Hyde Park performer, Ella Langley, arriving on Ella's debut album later this year, entitled, ‘You Look Like You Love Me’.
The simmering, romantic offering has already become a hit with fans from the teasers and snippets shared across socials, and given the fact that both Riley and Ella appear on Morgan Wallen's BST Hyde Park line-up, attendees are hoping they'll team up to perform the track together. After delving into the creative process behind the song with Holler, Riley seemingly hinted at a potential on-stage link-up at BST, “The song with Ella was one of those things that can only happen out on the road, out on tour, just really organically. I heard the song, and I think she kinda thought maybe it would be a good collaboration with somebody, so I wrote a second verse for it. It's just a really fun song. She does a great job with it, and it's definitely something that I'm sure we'll be doing together”.
In addition, Riley doubled-down on his comments in his interview with Holler in April that he's aiming to release a new album in the Fall, just a matter of months after his Way Out Here EP, outlining, “Later this year, we definitely have plans to have a full album”.
Another question ticket-holders have ahead of his BST Hyde Park show is whether Riley Green will be bringing his beloved corgi, Carl, across The Pond with him, with the adorable dog having amassed over 60,000 follows on Instagram.
Although he hasn't found the words yet, the ‘Worst Way’ hitmaker still hopes to pen a tribute to his canine pal, “I've not written a song about Carl, but I think he deserves a song. I think the fans would really appreciate it - especially his fans - so maybe that's something I can figure out over the next few months and write something about him!”
With Riley Green delivering a series of electric sets during CMA Fest 2024, including a charismatic Spotify House performance, the sense of anticipation is sky-high for his UK fans, as they gear up for his first show this side of the Atlantic next month.
