Reyna Roberts has been on fire this year! Now one of the hottest country singers around turns the temperature up even higher with the incendiary stomp-and-clap country funk of her latest single, ‘Louisiana’.

“The song was inspired by 'Boondocks' by Little Big Town and 'Daddy Lessons' by Beyoncé,” Roberts told us. “I’ve always wanted to tell a story of a girl and the challenges she faces through life. Louisiana isn’t my personal story, but a fictional character I wanted to create that I hoped people would resonate with.”

“What I love about country music is the storytelling,” she added. “That’s why I’ve always wanted to be a songwriter. I also incorporated the voices of my family in the song, because they passed down their voices to me and I wanted to immortalize them forever in that moment.”

The result is an explosive blast of brassy country pop that rips New Orleans jazz up by its roots and shakes it up over an explosive shuffle beat and a gigantic chorus; like a dream collaboration between Carrie Underwood, Elle King and Beyoncé.

‘Louisiana’ by Reyna Roberts is premiering exclusively on Holler below.

‘Louisiana’ is taken from her debut album Bad Girl Bible, Vol 1, which comes out on September 8th and follows up on her ‘Country Club’ and ‘One Way Street’ singles from earlier in the year.

Bad Girl Bible, Vol. 1 is the first half of my debut double album,” Roberts told us. “This is my story of being in love, on the run, my journey through Hell, and ultimately God’s salvation. I’m excited about this debut album because people will get to see a full picture of who I truly am.”

“I’m a writer on every song and I also co-produced many of the songs as well,” she explained. “I had a specific vision for each one- that also included detailed visuals. I spent countless days and nights going over every detail for this album. My goal was to make sure there was personality and character throughout the entire project, so the audience can experience my journey on every level.”

“This album is the truest reflection of my sound as an artist. Even though you hear some country trap and country pop early on. You feel like you’re on the run with me, and my sound becomes more outlaw country the darker the journey becomes. This is my Old Testament.”

Her artistic versatility is one of the reasons she manages to get into so many different areas of country music. She’s opened for Reba McEntire, toured with country artist Jamey Johnson, and performed with Luke Combs, and her music resonates with fans and critics alike.

Reyna Roberts’ Bad Girl Bible, Vol. 1 is released on September 8th via EMPIRE Nashville. Vol. 2 follows
