EXCLUSIVE: Katie and the Honky Tonks Premiere Enchanting New Song, ‘Last Call Lies’

Katie and the Honky Tonks are continuing the momentum from their widely lauded 2025 album, Ain't No Shame, with a brand new single, ‘Last Call Lies’. The song, which is officially out on Friday, September 4th, is premiering exclusively on Holler.

Led by Katie Sires, who is accompanied by her trusty Honky Tonks - Johnny Love on bass and vocals, Jesse Cotton on guitar and vocals and Luke Sires on drums - the Waterloo, Iowa band have amassed a loyal, burgeoning fanbase since last year's debut.

Since then, Katie and the Honky Tonks have been recruited to open for neo-traditional favourites like Braxton Keith and The Deslondes, with a host of headline shows on the books throughout the rest of the year. In ‘Last Call Lies’, the curtain opens on our inebriated protagonist sat forlornly in a run-down dive bar. As the bartender warns her that they're about to close up, our narrator scoffs, asks for another drink and defiantly declares, “My boots might be scuffed, my brain a little fried / But the Night feels young, don’t wanna say Goodbye”.

There's an enchanting playfulness that permeates ‘Last Call Lies’, with Katie's charismatic and refreshingly old-timey delivery capturing the levity and escapism of the situation.

‘Last Call Lies’ will strike a chord with fans who enjoyed ‘Dancehall’, one of the many gems on Ain't No Shame, another smoky, after-hours ode to a whiskey-fuelled dive-bar romance.

With a 2025 Country Artist of the Year accolade at the Iowa Music Awards under their belt and a fresh wave of new music up their sleeves, it feels like Katie and the Honky Tonks are going from strength to strength with the arrival of ‘Last Call Lies’.
