EXCLUSIVE: Jake Banfield Premieres Genre-Bending Summer Anthem ‘Cadillac Coupe (feat. Anella Herim)

“This song feels like summer,” Jake Banfield says about his new single ‘Cadillac Coupe’, and he’s not wrong.

For anyone else who’s already played ‘Austin’ and ‘Please Please Please’ close to death since the sun came out, Jake Banfield gives us a fresh tune to spin with a genre-bending summer anthem that makes us all want to sack off work and sit in a paddling pool with a pint of cider.

“I hope that ‘Cadillac Coupe’ will put anyone who is listening in a good mood and that they’ll wanna keep playing it over and over,” the singer adds about his latest single featuring ‘Lock N Key’ hitmaker Anella Herim.

“Shop all day, drink all night / Wake up in the city with the stars and a Cadillac Coupe in the drive,” Banfield sings, with a sound reminiscent of other rap minded country artists like David Morris and Redferrin as he tells the story of a small town girl who wants to live a big city life, keeping LA hours and rolling down Highway 101 in a Cadillac Coupe.

“The hook had so much energy and great storytelling that me and Anella wanted to keep that same vibe when writing the rest of it,” Jake Banfield explains about how the song came about. “We wanted it to be a song where you could be on a boat, on vacation, in the truck with the windows down, or in any type of setting and it would make you feel good when listening.”

Earning acclaim on TikTok with more than 1 million dedicated followers - not to mention over 100,000 YouTube subscribers and 300,000+ Spotify monthly listeners – Jake Banfield also hosts the podcast A Break With Jake on Hooche Country, where he engages in in-depth conversations with artists, songwriters, and athletes, covering topics such as creativity and mental health, which is where ‘Cadillac Coupe’ came about.

“I originally brought Anella on my podcast to talk about his music and how he got into the industry and showed him the song because I felt like he could be a perfect feature on it,” he says. “Him and his team loved the song and sent back a verse in one day and it took the song to another level. We ended up writing verse two and the bridge together and put the final pieces to the puzzle together.”

A songwriter known for writing songs for artists like Madison Beer, Anne Marie with Little Mix, and Dalton Mauldin, Jake Banfield has showcased his own peculiar blend of country music, 80s hair bands, 90s hip-hop, and 2000s pop with a string of quirky country pop singles this year, including ‘Rain Outside,’ ‘Somebody Does,’ ‘Whiskey Tasting’ and the whistletastic Summer smash ‘Livin’ On Lake Time (feat. Kellen Hines)’.

Co-crafted by ERNEST, Pink Sweat$, and Dirty Rice, ‘Cadillac Coupe’ seamlessly blends hip-hop beats with vibrant, catchy pop-country melodies and looks set to blow up when it’s released on 26th July.

This summer, he will be taking the music to festival stages such as Big Stomp Festival in Louisville, KY on July 27 and launching the 13-city Nashville Hits The Roof Tour.
