Dylan Marlowe sat down with Holler to delve into some of the key lessons he's picked up after a blockbuster year of touring alongside the likes of HARDY, Lainey Wilson and Morgan Wallen.
Dylan Marlowe spent the majority of the Fall 2023 opening for HARDY and Lainey Wilson on their packed-out arena tour, as well as joining up with Morgan Wallen for a one-off show in Marlowe's home-state of Georgia at Atlanta's Truist Park.
As a result, the fast-emerging singer-songwriter has been shadowing three of the biggest - if not the three biggest - names in country music at the moment. Dylan Marlowe, who recently released his electric, Dylan Scott-assisted earworm, ‘Boys Back Home’, is aware of how valuable those nights out on the road have been.
Dylan Marlowe shares that he made a conscious effort to soak in the headlining act's performance each night, “Learning from Lainey and HARDY, they're [two] of the best entertainers ever, you know, and every night I'd go to the front-of-house and watch. I'd just pick up on what they're doing. The way they work crowds and the way their shows are put together is really insane. I got to learn a lot from that”.
Marlowe goes on to touch on the charisma and stage presence that Morgan Wallen brings with him each time he storms onto the stage, “Obviously from Wallen, he's the biggest thing in country right now. So it was really surreal to get to open for him”.
He emphasises his gratitude at getting to kick off Morgan Wallen's hotly anticipated Truist Park show, “I'm really appreciative of that opportunity. [To get] the ticket to watch this whole set after was was pretty nice. He definitely gives people their money's worth, he puts on a long show - and gosh, he's just insane”.
Although Dylan Marlowe is quickly establishing himself as a future star of the genre, with ‘Boys Back Home’ recently becoming his first ever Billboard charting song, it's evident he remains as grounded as ever, looking to glean as many nuggets of wisdom as possible from each member of country music's current upper echelon.
