Ashley Cooke is a star on the rise and her live shows have been creating a buzz recently, not because she’s an immeasurably talented artist, but because she’s creating lifelong memories for someone special each night.

During her performance of ‘baby blues’ at each show, she dedicates the final verse to a fan.

“I wanted people to have moments at a live show that they can’t get at another show,” Cooke tells Holler during CMA Fest Presented by SoFi 2026, “I wanted to make it different every night”.

‘baby blues’ has been a fan favourite since she added it to her setlist early last year. Heavily teased on socials before it came out, it felt like it had been part of Cooke’s catalogue for a long time, despite only being released on her ace album late last year.

Cooke has taken this song one step further which is testament not only to the development of her live shows, but her development as an artist. Now established as a household name in country music, she’s been able to turn her attention to the finer details of her craft.

“The same songs, the same music, it can kind of get monotonous sometimes,” she explains about these moments in each show. “I just wanted everybody to be like ‘I wonder who the baby blues is’.

With her own piercing blue eyes, Cooke sings one final verse of ‘baby blues’ to a lucky fan, learning their name and giving them a once in a lifetime memory.

“I want them to be excited to have a moment with it,” the ‘your place’ singer-songwriter expands, “and also just to make somebody in the crowd feel special, that, to me, is cool.”

Most notably from CMA fest this year, Cooke brought out comedian and actor, Matt Rife, to give him his ‘baby blues’ moment.

Ashley Cooke is hitting the road with her ‘the baby blues world tour’ this September, serenading one lucky fan each night from Cleveland, OH all the way to London, UK. We’re certain this will be a tour full of Cooke’s signature sound alongside thoughtful details and unique moments.
