Following the success of ‘Flower Shops’, Ernest and Morgan Wallen teamed up this year on ‘Cowgirls’, one of the many highlights from Wallen's groundbreaking 2023 album, One Thing At A Time.
In addition, the prolific partners have co-penned an array of chart-topping hits, including Wallen's record-setting ‘You Proof’, as well as ‘Wasted On You’, ‘Broadway Girls’ and the Sneedville megastar's two new singles, ‘Everything I Love’ and ‘One Thing At A Time’.
On Morgan Wallen's 2023 tour so far, the two have taken the stage together a number of times to perform ‘Flower Shops’, while they also delivered a live debut of ‘Cowgirls’ in Jacksonville, Florida in May.
Now, the two are linking up once again as Morgan Wallen resumes his 2023 One Night At A Time tour in Chicago, Illinois this evening (Thursday, June 22). Given the fact that they endearingly enjoy such a close friendship - and bearing in mind they'll be spending a lot of time out on the road together this year - fans are hoping Ernest and Morgan Wallen might craft a few more anthems together in the coming months.
Holler spoke to Ernest and asked him about the likelihood of this happening, to which he replied, “It’s all about finding the right song…”. With Ernest currently readying a new body of work, we're hoping he comes across ‘the right song’ in time for it to appear on the upcoming project.
It seems we have reason to be optimistic, as Ernest went on to tease that he “wouldn’t put it past us to come up with something…”
Could this be a tongue-in-cheek hint to listeners that Ernest and Morgan Wallen might already have a song or two up their sleeve? The ‘This Fire’ singer-songwriter is known for his amiable, light-hearted persona, as is regularly showcased on his popular Just Being Ernest podcast, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that something's on the way.
Towards the end of 2022, HARDY, another good buddy of both Ernest and Morgan Wallen, shared with Holler that a collaboration between all three of the Big Loud signees “will happen“.
We reckon the most likely placement for this would be on the hotly anticipated third instalment of HARDY's beloved Hixtape series, but we'll keep our ear to the ground in case Ernest has another blockbuster collaboration in store for his eagerly awaited Two Dozen Roses follow-up.
