One of country's newest rockers, Ella Langley, has announced that her new song, 'Paint The Town Blue', will be released this Friday (Oct. 13).
Though the song won't officially hit streaming services until then, Langley and her band will be performing it live tonight (Oct. 9) at Nashville's beloved weekly showcase, Whiskey Jam, at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row.
The Alabama native has been teasing the new tune on socials, including a snippet of its chorus which sings: "I'm gonna pour it out to the dive bartender / Ain't goin' to the house till I forget to remember / Ever since you left I've been tryna paint it red / But tonight I'm doing something new / I'm gonna paint the town blue".
The song's grit and rock-leaning sound falls in line with much of Langley's already released discography, including her debut EP, Excuse the Mess, which arrived in May 2023.
The eight-song introduction showcased several sides to the new talent, including the vulnerable title track, fiesty 'Make Me Wanna Smoke', slow-rolling 'Country Boy's Dream Girl' and standout duet 'That's Why We Fight' with fringe country act, Koe Wetzel.
Due to her immediate popularity with country music fans, Langley has landed spots on several festival bills in 2023, as well as supporting slots with the likes of Jon Pardi, Riley Green and Morgan Wallen that will keep her busy through much of 2024.
With the release of 'Paint The Town Blue', it signals a new musical chapter from the rising talent, and we can't wait to see what she brings us this time.
