Drew Baldridge has picked up his second career No. 1 on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart, with his powerful, motivational anthem, ‘Tough People’, surging to the top spot this week.
During the tracking period dated February 14th to 20th, ‘Tough People’ has amassed a significant 863,529 streams, surpassing last week's chart-topper, Blake Shelton's ‘Texas’.
‘Texas’ spent three weeks at the pinnacle of the chart, with the classic country single - Shelton's first with BBR / BMG - seeing an 11% drop in impressions this frame to land at No. 2.
Drew Baldridge's ‘Tough People’ follows the success of ‘She's Somebody's Daughter’ - another striking, tear-jerking ode - which leapt to No. 1 on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart back in September 2024, before staying at the pinnacle for a second week.
Few artists have secured two No. 1 singles on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart since its inception in March 2024, with Drew Baldridge joining a prestigious group of acts that includes Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen, Post Malone and Blake Shelton.
Making this all the more impressive is the fact that Drew Baldridge was unsigned until 2024, with the Illinois native becoming the first independent artist to hit No. 1 at US Country Radio when ‘She's Somebody's Daughter’ reached the top spot last year. ‘Tough People’ is Baldridge's first release under BBR / BMG.
Completing the Top Five on this week's ranking is Ella Langley's ‘weren't for the wind’, Old Dominion's ’Coming Home’ and Lainey Wilson's ‘4X4XU‘ at No. 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
The biggest mover during this frame is Luke Bryan's uptempo 2024 single, ‘Country Song Came On’, which saw a staggering 556% rise in impressions to settle at No. 44.
In addition, Myles Smith's revamped version of ‘Nice to Meet You’ with Lainey Wilson, has earned an impressive debut at No. 6, with this week's UK Country Radio Airplay Chart also featuring new entries from Kashus Culpepper's ‘Out Of My Mind’, ‘Afternoon’ and ‘Pour Me Out’, as well as Midland and Jon Pardi's ‘Longneck Way To Go’, The Wiggles and Dolly Parton's ‘Friends’ and Alli Walker's ‘Kitchen Floor’.
