Dasha brought her two-stepping, boot-stomping banger 'Austin' to the Moody Center stage Sunday night (April 7). The fiery showcase of her viral country-pop dance track set the atmosphere at the CMT Awards ceremony aflame.
Flanked by a handful of backup dancers, the sensation breezed through the beat-riddled tune, working in the song's already iconic choreography as she went. The double denim-clad singer turned the awards show into one big party as she galloped and sashayed even further into fans' hearts.
Following several months of firsts for the artist, Dasha's performance added another to the list, marking her awards show debut. "My life has changed so much," she shared on the red carpet ahead of the standout performance. "This has just been a dream of mine."
Since the February release of her country debut What Happens Now? and the subsequent explosion of 'Austin,' Dasha, with her steely tone and confident air, has been making impressive strides in the genre.
With a freshly inked Warner Records deal in hand and lofty placement on several charts across genres, Dasha seems poised to wield her own awards next season.
During the star-studded evening, the 2024 CMT Awards enjoyed captivating performances from Kelsea Ballerini, who did double duty as the night's sole host, as well as Parker McCollum & Brittney Spencer, Trisha Yearwood, Bailey Zimmerman and more.
