Conner Smith's high-energy anthem, ‘Creek Will Rise’, has reclaimed its spot at the top of the Official UK Country Airplay Chart, two weeks after it first rose to No. 1 on March 10.
‘Creek Will Rise’ became the first ever song to reach the pinnacle of the Official UK Country Airplay Chart, which was launched in tandem with C2C Festival 2024 earlier in the month.
Last week, Cody Johnson claimed Official UK Country Airplay No. 1 with his sweet, rose-tinted ode to his wife, ‘The Painter’, taken from CoJo's acclaimed 2023 Leather album.
‘Creek Will Rise’, which appears on Conner Smith's widely lauded debut album, Smoky Mountains, finds the up-and-coming artist flexing his storytelling muscles and regaling the listener with a playful, light-hearted romance set in the midst of a storm.
The uptempo track showcases Smith's lyrical dexterity and his ear for a killer hook, with ‘Creek Will Rise’ quickly establishing itself as one of the biggest hits of the year in the UK.
On this week's chart, dated from Friday, March 15 to Thursday, March 21, 2024, ‘Creek Will Rise’ earned an impressive 665,764 impressions. Smith's fire-starter is followed by Jordan Davis’ beat-driven, pop-infused ‘Tucson Too Late’ at No. 2, with Cody Johnson's ‘The Painter’ dropping a couple of places to complete the Top 3.
At No. 4 is Warren Zeiders’ sultry, temptation-fuelled ‘Pretty Little Poison’, with Kane Brown's infectious, Phil Collins-interpolating ‘I Can Feel It’ holding onto fifth position.
