The anticipation ahead of the 2023 CMT Awards continues to escalate, as the final six contenders for the coveted Video of the Year accolade were unveiled today.

In the most prized category of the night, the remaining nominees are HARDY and Lainey Wilson's ‘wait in the truck’, Cody Johnson's ‘Human’, Morgan Wallen's ‘You Proof’, Blake Shelton's ‘No Body’, Carrie Underwood's ‘Hate My Heart’ and Kane and Katelyn Brown's ‘Thank God’.

HARDY and Lainey Wilson's eerie, cinematic visuals for ‘wait in the truck’ will be considered a dark horse to win by many, as will Morgan Wallen's ‘You Proof’, due to the sheer size of his fanbase.

However, the favourite will undoubtedly still be Carrie Underwood's ‘Hate My Heart’, with the Oklahoma native having won the CMT Video of the Year for four years running.

Underwood has taken home a staggering 25 CMT Awards in her career so far, more than any other artist.

Nonetheless, Kane and Katelyn Brown's heartwarming duet, ‘Thank God’, would certainly be a popular winner.

If they were successful, it would endearingly mark the first time the award had been won by a husband and wife duo.

Cody Johnson's loyal CoJo Nation army of followers will be doing their best to get their man the Video of the Year crown, while Blake Shelton's fans will be unquestionably be working hard to do the same.

We'll have to wait until Sunday night to find out who's walking away with the top spot in the 2023 Video of the Year category.

It's safe to say it feels like a particularly close fight to the finish this year, with all six remaining nominees arguably having a shot at winning.
