Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood have stormed to the peak of the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart this week, with their momentous collaboration, ‘I'm Gonna Love You’, hitting No. 1 after earning an impressive tally of 815,321 impressions for the latest tracking period, dated December 27th, 2024 to January 2nd, 2025.
The sweet, romantic duet appeared on CoJo's Leather Deluxe Edition project, which arrived in November 2024 and served as the sequel to Johnson's lauded 2023 Leather album.
It marks the first time Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood have joined forces, with the two chart-toppers expressing their mutual admiration ahead of the song's release.
Completing the Top Five is Bailey Zimmerman's ‘Holy Smokes’, Blake Shelton's ‘Texas’, Jordan Davis’ ’I Ain't Sayin’ and Lainey Wilson's ‘4X4XU’ at No. 2, 3, 4 and 5 respectively.
In taking No. 1 this week, Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood halt Jordan Davis’ lengthy run atop the chart with ‘I Ain't Sayin’. The Louisiana native recently notched a sixth non-consecutive frame at the pinnacle of the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart, and ‘I Ain't Sayin’ will likely be vying for a return to No. 1 next week.
The biggest mover on the UK Country Radio Airplay Chart this week was Ashley Cooke's philosophical New Year's Eve anthem, ‘it's been a year’, which leapt up 354% to land at No. 44. Despite being released back in December 2022, ‘it's been a year’ always enjoys a resurgence in popularity as the New Year approaches, with fans using the wistful ode to soundtrack their annual recap videos. Unusually, there were no new entries on this week's UK Country Radio Airplay Chart.
