During her spellbinding UK performance at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire, Carly Pearce treated attendees to an infectious unreleased song, ‘If Looks Could Kill’.
The track finds Carly Pearce showcasing her enchanting, charismatic vocals across an undulating, rhythmic instrumental, with the ‘I Hope You're Happy Now’ singer-songwriter struggling to resist the temptation to fall back into the arms of an old flame (“But if looks could kill I'd be six feet under / Seeing you happy is hitting me harder / Than I thought than it would / But you moving on looks so good”).
The Kentucky native has been performing the unreleased track throughout her European Hummingbird Tour in recent weeks, with fans clamouring for it to drop as soon as possible.
It was a celebratory night for Pearce in London, as she returned to the city for the first time following her standout performance at C2C nearly a year before.
While performing new music and her favourite hits, she took the time to share affectionate stories with the crowd, including one about her Dad, who had flown all the way from Alabama to be in attendance.
Pearce was also joined later in the night by Wade Bowen, her support act for the tour, to run through a roaring cover of Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn's 'Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man'.
The unreleased teaser of 'If Looks Could Kill' arrives as Carly Pearce continues to share cryptic posts across her socials, with some speculating that an announcement regarding new music is en route.
The ‘Easy Going’ hitmaker dropped her acclaimed fourth studio album, hummingbird, back in June. Some are predicting that Pearce is gearing up to unveil her follow-up project, while others are hoping a deluxe version of hummingbird is in the works.
Either way, new music from Carly Pearce is always cause for celebration, and we'll be keeping our fingers crossed she decides to drop ‘If Looks Could Kill’ sooner rather than later.
