Bunnie XO has shared an endearing video of her hearing the new collaboration between her husband, Jelly Roll, and Snoop Dogg, ‘Last Dance With Mary Jane’, for the first time.
The genre-blurring link-up, which features production from Dr Dre and a sample of Tom Petty's iconic 1993 track of the same name, appears on Snoop Dogg's new album, Missionary. Jelly Roll and Snoop Dogg debuted the blockbuster collaboration during Jelly's spine-tingling set at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena in November.
In Bunnie XO's newly released video, which appears to have been recorded back-stage at that Bridgestone Arena show, the host of the Dumb Blonde Podcast dances enthusiastically as Jelly Roll and Snoop Dogg rap and sing along to the studio recording of ’Last Dance With Mary Jane’. Heartwarmingly, the camaraderie between Jelly and Snoop is plain to see throughout, as is Bunnie XO's pride at seeing the ’Need a Favor’ hitmaker securing this bucket-list collaboration.
Jelly Roll's loving relationship with Bunnie XO is one of the many aspects of the Nashville native's off-stage persona that have drawn fans to him, with Jelly regularly expressing his gratitude to Bunnie for staying by his side when he was struggling with a range of issues.
Jelly Roll's joint track with Snoop Dogg is one of many A-list collaborations appearing on Snoop's long-awaited new album with Dr Dre, Missionary, which dropped on December 13th also features the likes of Jhené Aiko, Sting, 50 Cent and Eminem. Earlier in the year, Jelly Roll teamed up with the latter for ‘Somebody Save Me’, which interpolates Jelly's ‘Save Me’, one of the many stand-outs from Eminem's widely lauded new album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coupe de Grâce).
Although Jelly Roll now proudly calls the country world his home, the ‘Son of a Sinner’ singer-songwriter made his start in the rap arena , dropping a plethora of mixtapes and projects before making his foray into country music in 2021. Even so, his verse on ‘Last Dance With Mary Jane’ highlights how his rap skills have not deserted him.
Jelly Roll is currently taking time away from the road, following his expansive 2024 Beautifully Broken run, with Jelly joining Post Malone and Sierra Ferrell next year for one of the hottest tickets in country music, as Post embarks on his Big Ass Stadium Tour.
