We all know that 2016 is making a comeback in 2026, and we're still desperately hoping that this retro resurgence will bring with it a long-awaited Florida Georgia Line reunion.

After hanging out publicly for the first time in years at the 2025 CMA Awards in November, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard have confirmed they're working on their friendship again.

Hubbard shared in a recent interview that his main priority is on repairing their relationship, which grew strained following the differences that instigated their high-profile split in 2022. Kelley even dropped what many believe to be a diss track directed at Hubbard in 2024, ‘Kiss My Boots’, with the key bone of contention being that BK thought they could keep FGL going alongside his solo career, whereas THubb was of the opinion that this would confuse fans and muddle the overall brand.

Now, though, it thankfully looks like the duo are getting on better terms. During a new appearance on the Country Outdoors podcast, Kelley reflects on the status of he and Hubbard's friendship, stressing that rebuilding this connection is their No. 1 priority.

He begins by admitting that he still sees FGL's music all over social media, “Life is good right now...I can't get on TikTok or Instagram without scrolling through and hearing a couple of FGL songs, which is amazing. That run we went on was unbelievable”.

Kelley expands, “I'm just so grateful for that. You know, right now, I think just working on our brotherhood is kind of top-tier most important for us, and I think Lord-wiling, the brotherhood will lead its way home. So we'll see. But right now...I think we're both focussed on the friendship and working on our own stuff still”.

The Florida native leaves the possibility open for a reunion, but emphasises that he and his Georgia counterpart are leaving it all in God's hands, “I think time will tell, and I'm excited about what God can do, and I think the options are endless right now. It's really cool to see what time can do as well. You think you plan one thing and God and other things happen, and things shift and cycles come back”.

BK muses, “I think over the past couple years, we've really even more so tried to allow God to move and open those doors or close those doors, whatever it may be in life, and really not try to have it our way, because I think we get set on something, you know, and if it changes, you get frustrated. So we're just a piece of sand in this world, and just trying to say, ‘God, take the wheel, take the plans, do what You want’”.

The bit that will really pique fans’ interests is the fact that Kelley concludes by confirming that the idea of an FGL reunion definitely appeals to him, with the self-proclaimed ‘Beach Cowboy’ teasing, “If I do think about it, it does excite me. So we'll see”.

Elsewhere in their interview, the Kelleys look back on their journey with their hugely popular fashion brand, Tribe Kelley, touching on their momentous Mossy Oak collaboration.

As for the prospect of an FGL comeback, we certainly share BK's sentiments about being incredibly excited at the notion - but at the same time, we think it's great that he and THubb are making their friendship the priority after years of growing apart very publicly. Then, as Kelley said, God-willing, the music might follow closely behind.
