Doubling down.

Following his high-profile appearance as a presenter at the 2025 CMA Awards, Brandon Lake has taken to social media to confirm he intends to continue dabbling in the world of country music next year, with a flurry of collaborations in the pipeline.

Despite making his name in the Contemporary Christian Music scene, Lake has always flitted between sub-genres and textures while keeping his message Gospel-grounded.

And now, he has his sights firmly set on country music, following an array of star-studded link-ups with the likes of Jelly Roll on ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ and Gabby Barrett on ‘As For Me & My Home’. During recent tour-stops, Lake has been confiding in fans that he has recorded a new version of his latest single, ‘When a Cowboy Prays’, with Cody Johnson, which is expected to be dropping in the coming months. Shortly after, Lake shared a clip of a stellar unreleased track, ‘The Jesus I Know’, which he penned with Lainey Wilson, Luke Laird and Emily Weisband.

In a new social media post, the ‘Praise’ singer-songwriter has underlined what many have suspected, “Christian X Country Collision Incoming 2026. To God be the glory!”

CCM and country have always overlapped, with a slew of artists in the latter regularly discussing their faith through their music. Over the past few of years, as both genres have exploded in popularity, a host of CCM trailblazers such as Forrest Frank, Josiah Queen and Anne Wilson have been teamed up with country hitmakers.

As part of Lake's new video montage from the ASCAP Awards in Nashville, which took place in the lead-up to the CMA Awards, he pays homage to fellow prolific songwriters, Shaboozey and Ashley Gorley, who were also honoured in the ceremony.

What's more, while backstage at the CMAs, Lake spent time with Cody Johnson, Bailey Zimmerman, Russell Dickerson, Stephen Wilson Jr. and many more country stars.

We're hoping he's lining up collaborations with all of these, as well as other leading figures in country that often draw on spiritual themes, such as Thomas Rhett and Avery Anna.

When reflecting on his experience at the CMAs, Lake underlined how he's been welcomed with open arms into the country community, gushing, “Thank you @cma’s for the warmest welcome. Country music just feels like family. ♥️”. There's no question that God and country music - as George Strait famously declared - go hand-in-hand, and we're excited to hear what Lake has been cooking up next year.
