Upon the announcement of the 2024 lineup, the heavily decorated entertainer and host shared, "It’s finally here. Our most epic line up yet! Girls Just Wanna Weekend is going HARD on it’s 5th year.
"Grab your 80s gear and your board shorts and get you a spot on our island of misfit toys. You will never forget this trip… Let the very special guest guessing games begin! Viva la Girls Just Wanna Weekend!"
As is its charm, the long weekend of music and relaxation will once again boast an all female-fronted lineup, with performances in store from Carlile, Allison Russell, Janelle Monae, Sarah McLachlan, Lucius, Celisse and KT Tunstall.
Elsewhere across the four-day outing, the stage will be graced by Wendy & Lisa, corook, Monica Martin, Tish Melton, Carile's own bandmates SistaStrings and SmallTown Strings.
In case you thought that you couldn't fit any more girl power into one weekend, attendees will also be treated to a special songwriters round featuring Americana greats, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Brandy Clark and Kim Richey.
Notably, the lineup also includes a yet-to-be-announced "very special guest." Considering Carlile is the mind behind the Girls Just Wanna Weekend, fans are speculating it to be either Tanya Tucker or Joni Mitchell.
Carlile has been a critical frequent collaborator with both of the living legends in recent years, so it wouldn't serve as much of a shock if either of them were to make an appearance.
The 2024 installment of Girls Just Wanna Weekend will mark Carlile's fifth anniversary of the event, taking place at a new host resort, Barceló, which will accommodate all attendees on one property, lovingly dubbed “Brandi Land.”
