Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan joined forces for an energising cover of Alabama's classic 1982 anthem, ‘Mountain Music’, during the 2024 BMI Country Awards in Nashville.
The two artists have been good buddies for years now, with Blake and Luke often teasing each other via social media. Their endearing chemistry was on display throughout their jubilant performance of ‘Mountain Music’, which had the crowd leaping to their feet.
The duo linked up as part of the ceremony's powerful tribute to the much-loved band, who opened doors for new waves of artists through their rock-tinged sound in the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Elsewhere during the Music City event, Luke Bryan covered Alabama's ‘Feels So Right’, which dropped in 1981 and appeared on the group's widely lauded album of the same name.
The tribute, which also featured a performance of ‘My Home's in Alabama’ from proud Alabama native, Riley Green, was put together in honour of the band's lead singer, Randy Owen. Owen was being presented the prestigious 2024 BMI Icon Award.
The BMI Country Awards have blossomed into a mainstay in Nashville's November awards schedule, with the event honouring country music's best songwriters from the year. Last year's ceremony saw high-profile performances from the likes of Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Kenny Chesney and more.
