It looks like BigXthaPlug and Shaboozey are almost ready to drop another smash hit, with the duo spotted filming a music video along the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas.
Traffic came to a stand-still yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, June 17th), with numerous drivers expressing their surprise as they noticed Shaboozey and BigX standing in the road.
It's assumed that the two genre-blending artists were filming the visuals for their keenly awaited new collaboration, ‘Highway Highway’, which they teased a few weeks ago.
The infectious, energising track serves as the second link-up between Shaboozey and BigXthaPlug, with the two country-trap trailblazers also joining forces for the sleek, whiskey-soaked ‘Drink Don't Need No Mix’, one of the many stand-outs from Shaboozey's 2024 studio album, Where I've Been, Isn't Where I'm Going.
In his 2024 interview with Holler, Shaboozey paid tribute to BigXthaPlug, “Man, he's amazing, that's my guy. He's just a humble guy, a loving man and a great guy. Everyone around him loves him, he takes care of his people, his family, he's just a really stand-up guy. I think he's one of the most polarising people in music right now”.
More recently, Shaboozey honoured his friend with the Billboard Innovator of the Year Award in Nashville, ahead of BigX's surprise performance with Bailey Zimmerman at CMA Fest.
There's no word on a release date for ‘Highway Highway’ just yet, but if the rollout for BigXthaPlug's previous country-tinged single, ‘All the Way’ with Bailey Zimmerman, is anything to go by, we should be getting an announcement very soon.
When the ‘Texas’ rapper and Zimmerman were seen filming the music video for ‘All the Way’, the duo then unveiled the drop date the following day. Both ‘Highway Highway’ and ‘All the Way’ are expected to feature on BigX's forthcoming country EP, which is rumoured to include Jelly Roll, Luke Combs and Post Malone.
